Residents of Haymarket,

Once again, the Chief of Police and Sgt. have been accused of making offensive sexual comments. Also, once again, the officers that have agreed to testify against the Chief and Sgt have either been put on leave or terminated. Certain men and women on this council, including the Mayor think that this type of behavior towards women should be allowed. They have allowed these two employees to remain employed by the Town of Haymarket. The Mayor and Bob Weir has been strong supporters of these two employees. Would you want your WIFE or DAUGHTER around this type of language or person?

Why does the Mayor think that this type of activity is OK? When asked about this report, she stated in front of several witnesses that she didn't believe a complaint should have been filed. She only thought that the Chief & Sgt should have been talked to by the officers and asked to stop saying these things. Then again she was quoted in theWashington Post as saying, "I'm not married, but if I disagreed with my husband, I don't know if I would want to do that in public." I guess she thinks that women should put up with that type of treatment. We are in the modern age Mayor! Women have rights. They can disagree with their husbands at home, in public, and in the workplace if they want. I hope the citizens of Haymarket don't agree with the Mayors logic.

Is the town going to allow this harassment and hostile work environment to continue?

Why do they allow continuous sexual harassment of their employees and citizens?

However, the Chief was recently seen doing work on the Mayor's house. This might explain a lot!

P.S. If you notice, ALL of the Officers that told the truth in this investigation are no longer with the department. Seems kind of odd?
